Back then, the main hurdle was access: recording was expensive, getting airplay was hard, and distribution relied on gatekeepers. Today, the real challenge is not putting music out, but being heard above the noise of millions of tracks dropping daily. There is so much music now that the fight is no longer just for money, but for attention.
